Hello. It’s been a while hasn’t it? So what happened?

At the end of 2015 I was unfortunately diagnosed with dangerously high blood pressure, and my doctor forbade me from doing any running at all.

Despite a raft of extremely thorough checks, scans and tests no underlying cause could be found, and so the doctor put it down to a genetic switch that happened to kick in for no particular reason.

Several weeks of experimenting later we finally found a medicine which got it under control, and I am thankful to be able to confirm that my doctor has declared that I am now fully safe to run again!

This has meant that my stormtrooper running has had to be put on hold for the past twelve months, although I have still done a few appearances at charity events.

However, I am determined that 2017 should be a huge comeback, and so the training is already underway – has been for a few weeks now in fact.

I’m doing a great deal of training to get myself back in shape – but more than that, I have set myself the goal of beating all my best times from previous runs!

I’ll be posting occasionally on my blog to let you know how things are going, but so far I am extremely pleased and confident that by the time spring arrives, and the first 10km runs are looming, I’ll be fighting fit and ready to storm finish lines all across the country.
