Kidscape Fundraising Leaflet

0

The charity I am running for is of course Kidscape, the UK’s first charity set up specifically to help tackle bullying and child abuse. Little did they imagine 30 years ago when they began their fantastic work that bullying would take such a disturbing new image, in the form of cyberbullying.

Today children don’t just have to cope with the name calling, taunting, derision, hurtful behaviour and physical attacks which sadly form much of the playground style bullying we all remember. Mobile phones, computers and tablets now provide nameless, faceless cowardly bullies a direct route straight into their victim’s bedroom.

The image of a child feeling hurt, afraid, alone, whilst sitting in what should be the safe sanctuary of their own bedroom at home is a frightening one, and it is this image which has continue to spur me on to complete my fund-raising charity, because Kidscape offer a great deal to help support children in just that situation.

Helping To Keep Children Safe

fundraisingleafletKidscape offer children support, including practical, effective ways of dealing with bullies and being bullied. They also offer help to parents, teachers and anyone else who works with children professionally, helping to provide them with an understanding of how to recognise the signs, how to provide the right support, and how best to ensure children are safe, happy, and able to simply enjoy being children.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who has already donated – thank you so much. To help explain a little more about where the money goes that’s raised by people like me for Kidscape, and to provide a bit more information about fundraising for Kidscape thy have recently published a new leaflet which explains all about it.

I’m delighted to say that Kidscape have chosen to feature me in their leaflet, and have let me share it with you digitally through this book. If you would like to download your own copy of the ‘Fundraising for Kidscape‘ leaflet please simply right click on the photo of the cover on the right, and select ‘Save As…’, or just click it once and it will open in your browser.

How You Can Help Too

Once you have read the leaflet, if you feel that you would like to help contribute towards this incredibly worthy cause you can either visit my donations page at https://www.justgiving.com/stormrunning/, or text STOR50 £5 to 70070. (You can change the £5 in your text message to another amount if you prefer.)

Once again, to everyone who helps me to support Kidscape, thank you. Together we’re making a difference.
